Comic Book Curious 2023 Cosplay Corner Award!

The love for characters is a universal experience, some love them more than others, but we, as nerds, all love the characters in our favourite movies or shows. Cosplay is an art form that brings these characters to life by people who love it immensely and feel personally connected to these characters. This love for characters is why we created the cosplay corner, where we talk to amazing cosplayers from across the globe about their passion for cosplay and their creative journey. We've gotten to speak with some of the best people who love cosplay and have elevated the art form to have deeper meanings in their lives as a form of creative expression. 

With that in mind, we're introducing The First Annual  Cosplay Corner Awards. Our favourite cosplayers of the year are nominated in several categories, which you, the fans, will vote on. We're honouring our amazing Cosplayers for the first time, and you can decide who your favourites are. The categories for this year are Elaborate Cosplay, Closet Cosplay and a Special Category called Comic Con Cosplay that showcases cosplays seen at comic cons across our network. 

Some of Our nominees for the Cosplay Corner Awards are; Sunflow3r Samurai, an amazing cosplayer based in San Diego, California, with a knack for stylistic expression and got her name from her favourite anime Samurai Champloo. We also have Venture Bros. A cosplayer with love for the Mario Brothers who began cosplayer after a chance encounter while on Military Leave. Then there's Ezii Jude, a Nigerian-based Cosplayer and Costumier who loves creativity and craftsmanship. Someone with a different stylistic vision nominated is Nichelle, aka Xravenmadx she creates unique art using just make-up and the items in her closet. There's also The Yonn Don, someone determined to express her creativity regardless of the haters who try to put them in a box. These creators and many more artists are being honoured along with Cosplays From the 2022 Nerdwork Comic Con.

 In our Comic Con Category, we have submissions from Nerdwork Comic Con in Nigeria, some of the best Comic-Con Cosplays of the Year in Nigeria. We selected a handful of highly executed cosplays in this category to highlight what we loved about attending this event.

So if you love the art of cosplay as a spectator and participant, we invite you to vote for your favourites and help us decide who goes home with the Cosplay Corner Awards 2023. The voting process is straightforward, and it's done via the link in our social media bios, (or click here!) where we have a poll to determine the winner by the fans' votes. You may be wondering how you could choose your favourites; we have an entire cosplay corner with their stories, so you get to read about these fantastic cosplayers and how much work goes into their art.
